Over the last 18 years, just outside of Austin in a small town called Lakeway, there has been a bartender who will have your drink ready before you sit down, call you gramps no matter your age, and even trick you into a foolish bet to take your money.
He’s known by many to pour the coldest beers & finest spirits in all of Lakeway but only a select few have had his secret Fried Chicken.
For years, The Man, The Myth, THE Lonnie Sanders — no relation to the Colonel but supposedly cousin to Deion — has been using those gambling winnings to perfect his recipe.
The story goes, when a virus called COVID 19 came through town and shut down restaurant dining rooms, Lonnie finally had the time he needed to put the final touches on his soon to become World Famous Fried Chicken.
The legend is reality.
